The start of Marathon #5 training!!!!

3:38:20 official time; 3:25:00 BQ time needed - It's on!
This past week I started marathon training again.  Yes, I know I said I would NOT run a marathon in 2012 and I almost made it too.  The next race is the Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis, IN.  I can't wait.  After much research, I've decided to stick with Hal Higdon for training.  I'll again be doing his Intermediate II schedule.  I've typically modified his plan slightly but this time what I really want to make sure I'm following is the back to back runs on Friday and Saturday.  I think this is really what helped me near the end my last marathon and so I'm going to try and continue it throughout.  In the past, I've tried to rest before a long run and rest after.  Now I won't do this(hopefully) and it will hopefully help me train to run better on tired legs.  We shall see.  I did build in some rest days during races and I've got lots of races still coming up.  I'm being realistic in that if I race then I must also rest.  It's a trade off for racing during marathon training.

My goal is simple.  BQ!  I will qualify my goal in that I don't have my heart set on that goal since I'm running much slower than last fall but then I have not been marathon training either.  Either way, I will enjoy Marathon #5 with my two running buddies coming along as well with one running the half and one running the full.

Here's what my schedule will look like through race day on November 2.  Also, keep in mind that I will have lots of weights and yoga session in there as well as some biking and swimming with my first Tri coming in August.
