Month ended February

5 miles on the schedule and that's what I did plus outside for the third day which is nice.  It was actually in the 30's today which is nice for this time of year.  Hoping to run outside this whole week.  Not looking good for Friday and Saturday here in Michigan though.

---------------------------------

Speaking of Saturday, it's the virtual 5k on Saturday but you can run it now and up to a week after the race date of 3/5.  Please e-mail me the times as you finish.  Also, I had put a deadline in for the race but figured, WHY did I do that so if you still want to join it, let me know and I will add you.  I just need to know your in, your State and if you have a blog, the blog address.

IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO COME OUT TO STONEY CREEK SATURDAY, LET ME KNOW BECAUSE, AS OF NOW, I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WILL BE ANYONE.  I NORMALLY RUN THERE ON SUNDAY'S BUT WAS GOING TO MAKE A SPECIAL POINT TO COME OUT SATURDAY FOR THE VIRTUAL RACE.  I WILL NOT COME OUT IF NOBODY WILL BE THERE.  THANKS AND GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ON THE RUN!

---------------------------------

Wow, it's already March.  This is crazy!

Here are the details on February's workouts:

117.65 miles of Running
41 miles on the bike
7 weights workout.  My goal is twice a week  I really hate lifting weights!

Almost 20 hours time spent not including stretching and foam roller.  That probably adds another 12+ hours onto the schedule.  If you would have asked me three years ago if I had time to workout 32+ hours per month, I would have laughed.  Helps that I'm up at 5am though!  While the time to stretch and foam roller really adds to my workout time, it has made a vast improvement in my recovery from running and staying injury free.

Question of the day?  What is your favorite brand of running shoes and why?  I personally like Saucony because they seem to fit my feet really well and get even more comfortable as I wear them more(up to about 400 miles)  I've got blue, red, grey, green and some on reserve as well.

Have a great day and.......Keep Running!!!!!

  1. Although living in a warmer climate, I love running in the thirties. Here's hoping your weather continues to improve and these warmer temperatures are not just a tease!

  3. I'm loyal to Asics. I'm a if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it kind of person. My first pair of running shoes were Asics, I loved them and have stuck with them because they are so comfortable and they last a long time. My last pair I put way too many miles on them than I should have but they are still good to run in.

  4. My favorite brand of shoes are the ones that fit and don't cause me injury! Right now they are New Balance but I have used many others.

  5. Great stats!!! Very impressive, Jeff! My favorite running shoes (and apparel for that matter) is Nike. The Nike shoes (and clothes) just seem to fit me the best. I have my current model in pink, blue, red and trail!

  6. I am an Asics girl all the way! I have used other brands of running shoes but they just don't fit as perfect as my Asics:)

  7. Great that you could run outside. I'll do my 5km on Saturday. I'm a Nike runner on the road and New Balance runner on the trails.

  8. I road run with K-Swiss and trail run with New Balance, but I wear orthotics in all my shoes that support my arches better and accommodate my 3mm left heel lift. Planning on trying Vibrams Five Finger 'no-shoes' this summer.

  12. Hey Jeff! I love the look of your blog! Very cool. I ran in Sauconys for a long time. I switched to Brooks when I got into their ID program and LOVED them. Now I am running in Avia - because they are my team's sponsored shoe. I like them. SO maybe I am an easy shoe person?

    You had a rocking Feb!
