WTF Weather Wednesday.....

5 miler on the schedule today; done!  This week's workouts have just been terrible.  I get through them but it's crazy hot at 5am!

-------------------------

Did I mention it's hot in Michigan?  I mean, I know it's summer and all but look at this:

1.  WTF - 80 degrees at 5am??
2.  WTF - I can't even get away from the heat at the cottage because it's hot there too!
3.  WTF - Crazy hot running through the weekend?

You people that run after work are even crazier than I am!  Haha!

---------------------------

Just another reminder that my giveaway for the Elektroplate 26.2 emblems is over on July 23rd(Click HERE).  I only have 35 comments on the giveaway right now so you have a pretty good chance of winning one.  Good luck!

Question of the day?  Are you running in this heat?

Have a great day and......Keep Running!!!!!!

  3. If the heat didn't bring along the humidity it probably wouldn't be so bad :( But the humidity is the crappy part for me at least. I ran in this last year to a point.

  5. Glad you are done! I will be hitting the treadmill. I did 6 miles in the 106 heat index last week and thought I was going to die and then I suffered from it all day : (

  6. I have been on the treadmill for running but I do ride in the heat.

  7. I have been running every morning. This morning I was drenched in sweat. I ran 9.20 miles and had to take 4 walk breaks. I never take walk breaks!

  8. I've been out there - it's HOT. I did a Sunday evening run and last night. If I wasn't meeting my group last night, there's no way I would've run on my own at 6:15pm. Over 90 with crazy humidity. Good thing we all had each other to keep us going!!

I'm going to try again tonight for another 4 miles, but wait until 8ish. This Saturday's long run is going to be brutal in this heat!

  9. I am not running outside in this! I have been on the treadmill. I see so many people still braving the weather, but to be honest I'd rather run in the snow than this. Heat is just not my thing. Props to everyone who can do it!

  10. Funny I just posted my local forecast too - just brutal, but I've been out there. With a half the first weekend of August I figure I better get use to it!

  11. I am still heading out and running in it - the only other option is to do the dred-mill, and that is reserved for when there is absolutely NO other choice!

I run after work (at 5 pm), but it is getting difficult to do so - switching to mornings to try and minimize the attempts at "Breathing air as thick as pea soup"

  12. Ken - you have be be alert that is for sure. People WILL run you over

Twila - morning good for days like that; 106, crazy!

Christi - at least there is a little breeze on the bike(even if it's warm)

    Steph - that's certainly understandable!

Rose - you are not kidding. Not looking forward to the long run.

Amy - I agree I'd run in cold but I don't like to run in snow.

Michelle - Yes, it's going to be this way for awhile.

Future Runner - If you can get used to getting up, mornings work well. I'm used to being up at 4:45-5am now.

  13. I really REALLY hope I win that decal for my car... it would be a GREAT birthday present (my bday is the 29th) AND it would look great on my BLUE car. Sooooo pretty. Ha.

I am planning to run at 5:30 am tomorrow because of the heat. It's wicked hot here too. Luckily I'm going to a pool party after work tomorrow. Yay!

  14. I've been running in this heat, but it hasn't been easy and my paces haven't met my expectations the last 7 or 8 days. I didn't get out until mid-morning today and ending up running farther than I had originally planned, but I was very careful to pay attention for any possible warning signs and not push the pace too much.

  15. I try to get up at 4am to get the runs in....... Still too hot!
