Real or fake? plus Contest reminder!

Cross Training today......NOPE.  I decided to sleep in 10.5 hours!!!  I guess I needed to catch up on my sleep.

Today's the last day for the two contests.  I'll announce the winners tomorrow.  The giveaways are for a Contigo water bottle and an iFitness belt.  Check it out...your chances are VERY good(HERE)

I know.  It's not related to running but I would say that it's going to be my exercise for the day since I slacked off on cross training.  Putting up the Christmas tree.

Today we need to put up the Christmas tree....ugggg!  Sorry, I just don't like doing it.  Our tree has to be put together branch by branch and takes forever!  At least the kids now help put the ornaments on the tree to make it go quicker.  I decided this year that I'm just putting up the tree and that's it.  Usually, I decorate the entire home with Christmas decoration but I'm just not motivated this year.  Perhaps that happens when the kids are getting older, you lose the motivation for doing all that work.  Haha!  One thing nice is that we usually watch a Christmas movie while doing it - Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life, etc.

I think we are going to look for a new Christmas tree after Christmas this year(I've been saying that for about 3 years now).  We need one that is three pieces with lights already on it.  That's my kind of tree - easy.  I'll be looking for a 9ft tree with light that takes about 10 minutes to put up and is 1/3 the price it is today.

How about something like this?

Believe it or not, this is a 17ft artificial tree - It would fit in our great room(barely) since we have high ceilings.  It's only $6,300 online - Ha!  Of course, there's probably another $4,000 in ornaments on it too.  Plus I need to pay someone to put this one up.  I just need to be elected President - have you seen the White House special where they decorate the White House?  It's unbelievable the amount of stuff they have - our taxpayer dollars at work.

I'd even be happy with trying a real tree.  We have never had a real tree but growing up we did for some of the years.  It's certainly easier to put up but you do have to go get it.  Unfortunately, nobody in my family likes the real trees.

How about an Ice tree like the one in Gaylord, Michigan?
Or a theme tree like my parents did a few years back?  My mom made every single snowflake on this tree - amazing.  I don't have the patience for that!

Yes, I know I'm a little late on this.  I used to put up our tree every Thanksgiving weekend but it just seemed so busy this year.  I guess I better get to work.

Question of the day:  Is your tree up?  What do you have?  Real or fake?

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

  1. Yes its up...Thanksgiving night is the soonest I'm allowed to put it up, haha. Its 7 foot of easyness too. Its fake...three pieces...prelit...and easy breezy. I highly recommend. :)

  2. oh no our tree is not up yet. We used to have fake until the flood wiped it out last year. Then we got a real one last year and it was beautiful. For the whopping price of $14 from Menards that's the way we are going to go again this year.

  3. My tree is up! And it's a fake tree. It has tons of ornaments of mine from when I was a kid. It kinda looks a bit like a Charlie Brown tree but that's okay. It still makes me smile :)

  4. Real. Very real. So real, we drill a hole in our floor and plant the sucker right into the earth.

  5. Real or fake? We lose either way. If we buy a real one, our cat eats the needles and hurls them up. If we buy a fake one, our cat still eats the needles and hurls them up.

  6. I feel like we were late to the game this year, too. It's just been so busy! I'm all for the fake tree. And the kiddo loves decorating it, so no need for pre-lit. And uh, $6k for a Christmas tree?? Who needs that?!?!
