When pigs fly!

3 miles on the schedule today....done!

So I did exactly what I said I was not going to do....I just registered!  Two marathons next year.

Ok, so technically this will be marathon #3(May 6) since I already registered for marathon #4(Oct 21).  This one looks like one fun weekend.  Which one am I running?
From Flying Pig Marathon website
I can't wait to run this.  It's going to be a great weekend.  The race is notorious for rainy weather but my luck is going to change that and we are going to have a perfect race weekend!

I'll be starting to train for it January 2.  What a great way to kick off the year!  The only thing I'm worried about is a frickin huge little hill from mile 5 to 8(see below elevation).  Other than that, it looks pretty good!
Great/challenging course
Check out last years medal!
Interested in running it?  I'd love to meet some other bloggers at this so if you will be running it, let me know!
Check the Flying Pig Marathon out at their website:  HERE

Have a great day and.....Keep Running!!!!

  1. I'll be curious to follow you through this - after a year with 2 marathons, 1 spring and 1 fall, I much prefer the spring race. Mostly because I suck at training in summer heat. I have heard great things about both your races! Good luck!

  2. Oh wow! I have been tossing around the thought of running their half marathon; too funny!! I'll let you know if I decide to go! :)

  3. Congrats, Jeff, and good luck with your upcoming training! I've heard great things about the Flying Pig Marathon. I'm running my first marathon in May, but maybe I'll be able to run Flying Pig one of these years.

  4. Nice! Congrats on registering... I hear that's a super fun race!

Oh and enjoy starting your training on the 2nd - that's my birthday :)

  5. AWESOME!!!!!! We'll finally get to meet the world famous Detroit Runner!!!! Michael and I are running this ... I think Coy Martinez too! That's so cool Jeff!

  6. i've only heard good things about flying pig! It looks like an awesome race!

  7. Good choice! The Flying Pig has been my favorie marathon thus far. Great crowd support, fun time and who doesn't love a medal with a pig on it? They have great swag too - they always give some kind of bag (the year I went it was a messenger bag). It was a little hilly but nothing crazy AND the year I did it it was a little drizzly at the start but cleared right up so there is hope :)

  8. Well, better uphill at miles 5-8 than 15-18!!! Happy trails!!!

  9. Congrats on registering - I hear it's a fun race! Good luck with your training!

  10. Shortgirl - I'd be happy to ride together on that Saturday morning if you plan to go to help save on gas costs(if you don't mind waiting for me to finish the full). Just let me know!

Matt - congrats on committing to your first!

Jim - I'm pumped. I can't wait to meet you and Michelle finally!!! We'll have to plan to meet when it gets closer.

  11. After reading this amazing and informative post I want to request you for written one blog about 3d metal parts as I am searching for the best post here but I can't find the quality posts.
