What's next?


4 miles on the schedule today.  Done.  The training cycle for marathon #4 is now complete.  I'll be giving myself four days of rest.  Next run - 26.2 miles.

So after I have the Grand Rapids marathon completed, what's next?  Actually, I'll be running this race on 10/28.  YOU can still sign up to join if you're interested.  Go HERE!  Yes, it's a week after the marathon.  If you're running Detroit or Grand Rapids, this will be a great race to do a nice recovery run and it's LOADS of fun too!

I also have the Detroit Turkey Trot on my schedule on Thanksgiving morning.  I'm running it since it's the 30th year anniversary of the race plus it gives me a little less guilt eating that day.  It's the largest race in Michigan with a 10k,5k, 1 mile - I think over 25,000 total runners.  Ridiculously crowded which is why I don't run it every year.

No races planned after that until March but perhaps I'll find something I'm interested in before then.  It will be nice to be off a training plan for a little while and will also be nice to get back to some cross training on the bike.

  1. Those are the only two races I have on my schedule for the rest of the year too. Oh yeah, except you have a little 26.2 race in there before those little ones ;) Good luck in GR I can't wait to hear how it went!

  2. You'll have to run some of the RUT fatass runs this winter. Great way to meet other runners, hit the trails and get in some longer runs without racing.
