Aspen Park Trail - Gaylord

This weekend I ran the bike trails of Aspen Park in Gaylord near my cottage.  The park is a very nice part that allows for either running on the asphalt, which I've done before, or running on the bike trails.  This is the first time I've been on the trails here and it's a great course with about 5 miles of singletrack(98%).  Here's a look at what I experienced:
Start of the trail
The trail starts out easy enough.  In fact the first couple miles are not really that hilly but it does get hillier after that.
Some good elevation here
It's got a nice mix of hardwoods, pines, and open areas to give it some nice variety.
There are a ton of turns on this course as you will see by the map below.  I felt like I was turning a bunch.  It was not a highly technical course but the turns seemed to make it harder.

This part here reminds me of some of the Legend Half marathon course
I really love running on pine needles as it gives you such a soft feeling.
Lots of pines in the area make for a nice cushion when running
A few spots to climb
Near the end, you even got a nice view of a pond as well.
Nice pond at the end.
I ran the course twice plus a few extra miles.
Overall, a really enjoyable run and I'll be sure to get out there numerous times when I'm back up north since it's so close to the cottage.

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!
