Cheribundi Juice Review and Giveaway!!

A couple weeks ago, I received a case of the Cheribundi drink for this review.  They sent a variety 12 pack of the following:
Cheribundi
I had five options to try, all being 8 oz. bottles, and will briefly review each.

Cherry Rebuild - This is to help you restore your muscles.  Not only is there 45 cherries used to make this but they also combine whey protein in the drink to help your muscles.  I used this primarily after I did a run and weights.  While I like the cherry taste, I'm not used to the whey protein which you can tell is mixed in there.  It's a bit thinker than the other options.  Out of the five options, this was my least favorite but could certainly seen the need for this option especially for body builders.  It certainly has a thicker taste than the others.

Cherry Relax - This is made with 40 cherries.  It's got L-theanine in it which comes from tea leaves and it to help you relax and sleep better.  This is made to be used at the end of your day.  The taste is awesome but I can't really say that it helped me sleep better.  I did, however, only have two bottles and it may make a difference if I were to use it on a regular basis.

Cherry Restore - If I were to pick one option, this would be the one I would drink after every run.  First, it's made with 40 cherries.  It's also got electrolytes and B-vitamin complex to help you after exercise or, in my case, my run.  I tried this after some short runs but also after my long runs and really enjoyed it.  I did feel that it helped give me back what I lost on the run.  This was my favorite option.

Cherry Juice light - This is also made with 40 cherries.  Of course, it's a little less calories but frankly, I"m not sure you would really need to worry that much about the calories(only 50 calorie difference from the regular Cherry Juice) on this since it's so healthy.  It has a really tart taste to it and I enjoyed it.

Cherry Juice - this had the most cherries in it at 50 cherries.  The other options have less cherry in it so that the company can include the other ingredients in the bottle depending on your purpose.  It has more calories than the light option but tasted very similar with the very tart taste to it.  It's also lightly sweetened with apple juice in it.

Research has shown that cherry juice reduces pain and inflammation which can help runners as well as other athletes.

From a runner's perspective, the Cherry Restore is the way to go in my opinion.  I don't tend to restore my body after my runs like I probably should.  If you like cherries, then you will really enjoy this option.  Probably the largest drawback on the product is the cost, which runs $33.99 for a 12 pack of 8oz bottles coming directly from their website.  I can understand the costs involved given the amount of cherries in it.  You can also purchase it at your local grocery store, however, in my case, it's a fairly long drive to a store that carries it(17 miles)  Cheribundi also offers some coupons through their 7 day challenge.

Interested in trying some for yourself?  Cherribundi has offered to give away a 12 pack sampler to a lucky reader.  Here's the rules:

1) Go go their website and tell me which option you would like the best.  Come back here and leave a blog comment(1 entry) (Mandatory)

2) Go to their Facebook page, HERE, "like" their page, and post on their wall, "Detroit Runner sent me", join their 7 day challenge(1 entry)

3) Go to their Twitter page, HERE, "follow" their page, and post "Check out www.detroitrunner.com to win a 12 pack of Cheribundi thanks to @cheribundi and @detroitrunner1"(1 entry)

I will choose a winner at random on Saturday, June 15.  Good luck!

Have a great day and....Keep Running!!!!

* Note - I received a 12 pack of Cheribundi Juice in exchange for this review.  All opinions on this blog post are my own and I was not paid or required to give a particular opinion on the product.

  1. I'm really intrigued by this. I have a bottle of tart cherry juice concentrate in my fridge because of its claims to helping reduce inflammation for runners/athletes. I would be interested in trying juice that has been formulated additionally for that purpose! I actually would like to try the one with whey for after my strength training sessions. The Restore sounds like a good option too, based on your review. On their site they have tea infused cherry juices, which sound awesome. I'm not sure if thats in the sampler pack, but black tea and cherry juice sounds awesome to me!

There's a retailer that sells Cheribundi next to my Doggy Daycare drop off, so I'll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing your review.

  10. They all sound wonderful; how do you choose? I think I'd most like to try the ones with blueberry, cranberry, and raspberry mixed in. I love cherries but my husband does not so I'd have these all to myself! :)
