No chafing at all. For fuel, I used First Endurance EFS LS. Each 7 oz flask has 400 calories - one might be just fine for 1/2 marathon and it fits really nicely in your hand. I've found a couple of hydration belts I really like, including the Camlebak Race Delaney, has a large water bottle and a gel flask along with a large pocket. I'm an addict always adding new ones! Pretty soon I'm going to have to forego all other activities so I can keep current on my reading. :-)<br /><br />In my half this October I ran with a Spibelt (to hold my cell)...and a Nathan Quickdraw bottle for fluids. It worked really well, and there wasn't any chafing. It was nice having the belt on my daily runs. The one time I've been injured out on a run, I didn't have my cell phone. Learned my lesson the hard way. :-)<br /><br />I've recently purchased an Amphipod belt...and I'm in love!!
